The Lewis and Clark Trail on the Air special event is an on air activity that commemorates the historic Lewis and Clark Trail. Morse Code Day on April 27 honors the inventor of the Morse code, Samuel Morse, who was born on this day in 1791. DMR also has a better vocoder and digital modulation than D-Star. One of the main advantages of DMR is that it is an open standard, which means that it can be used by any manufacturer. DMR has several advantages over other digital voice modes such as Yaesu Fusion and D-Star. It is one of the most popular digital voice modes in amateur radio. Also, this is the last meeting before the summer break (no meetings in July or August). This will be the last meeting before Field Day, so we will be firming up details for that event. The next meeting for the CWARC will be held on June 15th at Time Out Pizza in Ephrata. We used the club callsign, W7TT, and had 618 points when all was done… The bands were not the best again this year but we did make 185 contacts on SSB or on CW with 61 on SSB and 124 on CW– good job Gene. We were also outdoors with a couple of canopies set up for shade. We had Field Day at the Grant County Work Release facility this year as we were not able to get the White Trail Grange that we used last year.
